In Los Angeles, Pineapple Support, a nonprofit dedicated to mental health in the adult industry, is organizing a complimentary online support group aimed at aiding performers in combating burnout. Beginning on Tuesday, December 19 at 4 p.m. ET, the support group titled “Preventing and Recovering From Burnout” will run for six weeks. The sessions will be conducted by Alicia Graham, a therapist with Pineapple Support.
Alicia Graham, the therapist leading the group, emphasizes the importance of addressing stress to avoid reaching a state of burnout. The group will explore evidence-based methods for both preventing and recovering from burnout. Graham encourages individuals to participate in this program to learn resilience-building techniques and safeguard their well-being in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The establishment of Pineapple Support traces back to 2018 by Leya Tanit, a performer, following several losses in the adult industry related to depression and other mental health issues. As a recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity in the U.S., Pineapple Support has facilitated connections for over 12,000 adult performers with mental health services, including therapy, counseling, and emotional support at no or reduced cost.
Leya Tanit highlights the unique stresses faced by content creators and the importance of providing a supportive and empathetic forum for sharing and connection. The group aims to educate participants about recognizing burnout and equip them with effective strategies to tackle it, ultimately benefiting their mental health and well-being.
The “Preventing and Recovering From Burnout” sessions are scheduled to last approximately one hour and will be held online every Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, excluding holidays.
